When, in 1912, raised in Mlada Boleslav for the first time in the air Metoděj Vlach with his monoplane, only a few people realized that he was the first Czechs who built an airplane of his own design, powered by an automotive engine and taking off by himself.

One hundred years later the the air museum was built. Building of air museum Metoděj Vlach is particularly an outstanding creative achievement of Ing. Arch. Michal Hlavacek, who was at the birth of the project. He was inspired by the shape of an "invisible / stealth" aircraft F-117 Nighthawk.

A part of the visit is to try the flight simulator. How to take off and land in a simulator.

The collection includes more than 25 mostly fully functional aircrafts, originals and replicas. Radios, aerial cameras, uniforms, overalls, appliances and other aviation equipment from the period from the pioneer times to the present.
